American Imperialism and Aggression
One ‘advantage’ to Trump’s extremely weak international standing seems to be a global resistance to American Imperialism.
Putting American global dominance in perspective, American imperialism, as depicted in these non-MSM articles, has brought out the best in globally-inspiring ideals, the worst in behavior (but typical of imperialism, with a dominant military), with a typical ‘decay from within’ scenario, driven by the tRump administration.
Unlike the sensation seeking so-called “reporters” that got tRump elected, the articles in this section were written independent of Main Stream Media (MSM) controls but also independent of each other. However, they all point to the same hidden-from-public-view problem of the Grand-Canyon-wide gap between America’s highly commendable, spiritually-oriented ideals and actual practices around the globe in the name of “defense.” These authors all point, individually and independently, to the old adage that “power corrupts; absolute power corrupts absolutely,” and the U.S. has been THE absolute global power since WWII.
The first real “whistleblower” concerning American Imperialism was a 1930s multiple Medal of Honor Marine general by the name of Smedley Butler, in his short book “War is a Racket.(pdf)” But he was also instrumental in stopping a coup against the president, as reported in the account, “Smedley Butler and the 1930s Plot to Overthrow the President.”

How the Navy Sold the Vietnam War
So history repeats itself with the passage of the Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Iraq Resolution of 2002. Similar to the Gulf of Tonkin resolution of 1964, deception at the highest levels of the U.S. government was used to justify a war that shouldn’t have occurred and the US public had to be energized to support the war. U.S. entry into WWII was started in a similar manner when FDR followed an Army Lt Colonel’s advice about provoking Japan … while FDR wanted to help Europe fight Nazi Germany … who had allied with Japan… a means had to be found to energize a complacent US public for war.
